While most people immediately think of providers of foot care as “chiropodists”, this isn’t the case. In fact, you’ll find Podiatrist, Chiropodists, Foot Health Practitioners and Podiatry Assistants working in various capacities across public and private sector foot care.

In order to use the title “Podiatrist” or “Chiropodist” you must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Podiatrists are degree trained to provide high level and specialist foot care, along with routine maintenance. For example, Podiatrists can undertake nail surgery, dispense prescription only medication and administer local anaesthetic.

Foot Health Practitioners are trained to diploma level and are able to provide routine foot care services. This can include toe nail cutting, callus reduction, enucleation of corns, treatment of verrucae and so on.

Each health insurance provider and policy will have different terms and conditions.

Most health insurance providers will cover treatments with a registered Podiatrist.

Many do not currently cover treatments carried out by Foot Health Practitioners.

If you are looking to claim the cost of your treatment, please make sure you check the terms of your policy and book with the appropriate practitioner.

How often you visit for treatment will depend on a number of factors and will be discussed with you at your appointment.

Yes, we take prevention of cross contamination very seriously. All of our instruments go through a gold standard, three step cleaning process.

They’re firstly scrubbed with an antibacterial detergent, then they are cleaned in an ultrasonic bath.

We then place and seal all of our instruments in pouches to be sterilised. All instrument are then sterilised at 134 degrees celcius in a vacuum autoclave.

The instruments remain in the sterilised pouch, until we open them in front of you at your treatment.

We will occasionally use instruments that are not compatible with our sterilisation processes, such as brushes when applying gel polish. In such cases, the equipment is single use and is disposed of after your treatment.

In clinic, we accept cash and all major credit and debit cards.

Some procedures may be eligible for payment in installments via Clearpay.
